City cycles
City cycles are designed primarily to take the rider from point A to point B. They are often called commuter bikes for this reason. The goal of most of these cycles is to be comfortable, easy to handle, and reliable.
Most city cycles do not have more than nine gears, the reason being that there are many starts and stops in most cities, and not many mountains to climb and descend. Many city bikes are single or fixed gear cycles. The tires are also thinner than the tires on mountain bikes.
The city cyclist should consider purchasing rear generator lights in order to be visible and safe while riding at night.
